Hospice is specialized care that focuses on maintaining comfort while maximizing quality of life. Hospice provides pain and symptom management services for those with a life-limiting illness. Support is also provided for their families and loved ones during this difficult time. Hospice is a way to continue life’s journey with the best quality of life and the best care possible. When in hospice care:
- The patient’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs are addressed
- Family, loved ones, and caregivers are included in care and care planning
- Care can take place wherever the patient calls home
- Discomfort and adverse symptoms will be addressed to ensure the patient is as comfortable as possible
